NIF maintains the largest searchable collection of neuroscience data, the largest catalog of biomedical resources, and the largest ontology for neuroscience on the web. NIF's already established and extensive infrastructre makes sharing your data easy.

How to Share Data through NIF:

NIF has integrated over 174 data sets and databases. Whether your data is contained in simple spreadsheets, a web page, or a queryable database, NIF has many tools available to help you share your data. Contact us at info@neuinfo.org to discuss your project's needs.

Cost:

NIF is funded by the NIH Blueprint for Neuroscience Research, a cooperative effort among the 16 NIH Institutes, Centers and Offices that support neuroscience research. NIF's already established infrastructure provides a more cost-effective means for you to share your data. Certain projects may qualify for free data sharing services.

Data Sharing Policies and Data Sharing Statements

Both NSF and NIH require grant applicants to include a data sharing policy with their applications. As a large public repository of scientific data, NIF makes sharing your data easier than ever.

NIF has prepared data sharing statements for inclusion in your NSF and NIH grants, available here.

Copy and paste the appropriate statements, fill in the blanks to make the statement specific for your data type, and include links to the appropriate licenses.
