or the NeuroLex entry for MGI Transgene

MGI Transgene collects and annotates expression and activity data for recombinase-containing transgenes and knock-in alleles.

MGI, from the Jackson Labs, functions as the authority for genetics in mice. This list of transgenes is available from MGI as a service and includes all known transgenes and synonyms. NIF makes this list available so that researchers may have a better idea whether the trangene or transgenic animal that they are searching for is available.

In the following example we search for Tg2576, a common term for an Alzheimer’s related transgene.

Note, in many cases Tg2576 is used, for example in 28 grant applications, however the standard name Tg(APPSWE)2576Kha is not used and it is fairly difficult to track down.

Clicking on the first column leads to MGI and the wealth of information about this specific transgene.
