ModelDB is a database of neuroscience-related models, which can be downloaded. This is useful for classroom demonstrations of voltage properties or for research examples.
Most of the models are published in peer-reviewed journals, but are stored in this database.
We can start by searching for a concept that we may be interested in or a current that we may be interested in.
We can start by searching for a concept or a current that we may be interested in.
We can navigate to the databases tab and under the data type and models categories we can see ModelDB. Once we click on this, we find that there are a number of models of action potentials stored in the database. Each has a name and a concept as well as the type of software that the model runs on, cell type, currents and other identifying information.
When we click on the blue model name that we are interested in a new page opens taking us to ModelDB where there is a long description of the model, the author list, a list of currents that are used (with links to another database called NeuronDB) and a download this file button (about half way down the page).
